How long have you trained with us?
I started training with Underway in 2021 so thats bringing us up to 3 years!
Why do you train CrossFit with us?
I train with CrossFit Underway because of the environment, I have met some of my best friends at the gym and theres nothing that beats hitting CrossFit workout, DT with your besties!!
I also continue to train with Underway because of the results I’ve seen, before coming here I couldn’t do a pushup nor a pull up and now I’m doing both and then some.
There’s always something new to strive for and an achievable way to get there that gives purpose to my training.
What is the main thing that has kept you coming back to us for so long?
I think the main reason I keep coming back to CrossFit Underway is the community. I have tried a-lot of different gyms and group training environments but there has never been anywhere quite like Underway. We are a family and we support and celebrate everyone no matter how big or small the win might seem and that is something special.

What has been one of your best moments training with us?
One of the best moments at CrossFit Underway was hitting and surpassing a Personal Best deadlift that I had previously failed and thought was out of my capabilities. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face afterwards!
How would you describe the staff from at CFUW?
Knowledgeable, supportive and fun!
The coaches at Underway have shown to have a wealth of knowledge on all things CrossFit and strength training.
They also know how to let loose and have fun with life and training which is something to admire. I’ve always felt supported by the staff at Underway.
How is life different for you since you began training at CFUW?
Since training at CrossFit Underway and being surrounded by a community of like minded people my health as improved tenfold. I have struggled with PCOS and hormone imbalances including Insulin resistance my entire life, since getting my fitness in check and guidance with nutrition from coaches and other members all of this has stabilised.
Physically I am fitter and stronger than I have ever been but the biggest difference is my mental health. I have more will power and am actually excited to go to the gym everyday.
How would you describe the training environment and people at CFUW?
Challenging, fun, motivating and immensely rewarding would definitely stand to describe CrossFit Underway and its members.

How long have you trained with us?
At Underway, coming up to 4 years of training now.
Why do you train CrossFit with us?
Well, I came to Underway as I followed the founding owners & coaches Russ, Sam & Jack from the previous gym they worked at before they opened Underway. I started my CrossFit training journey with these guys, and I wanted to continue that journey with them as I had come so far under their coaching, support and guidance
What is the main thing that has kept you coming back to us for so long?
To be honest it’s a number of aspects. The coaches are honestly amazing. Their knowledge, experience and approach to training is elite.
We are so fortunate to have the depth and breadth of CrossFit training experience the coaches at Underway provide The community at CFUW is strong.
They are there to share in your success, encourage you to keep turning up to put in the work, and as a community build a real vibe of inclusiveness, friendship and personal growth.
What has been one of your best moments training with us?
Hard to pick just one! Being a part of the annual CrossFit Open with the CFUW community is the ultimate experience. It is honestly for me the most inspiring 3 weeks of the year… and to sneak in another ‘best moment’ was when I hit a 100kg PB squat clean and jerk for the first time!
The coaching and encouragement I received on that day is honestly what helped me get those 100 kegs off the floor and over my head! Now while I am working to repeat this 100kg effort, it is still a moment I draw on to remind myself of what I have been able to achieve at CFUW.

How would you describe the staff at CFUW?
The coaches at CFUW are elite. Their approach to coaching in my opinion is always about the individual, while needing to cater for the masses!
The members at CFUW are truly fortunate for the depth of knowledge, understanding and experience the coaching staff bring. They (the coaches) are always there to answer a question, help with rehab, give advice on how to attack a WOD, or even just have a chat, share a story and have a laugh.
The coaches are a huge reason why I choose to train at CFUW.
How is life different for you since you began training at CFUW?
I can honestly say that since training at CFUW, many other aspects of my life have benefited.
The structure and discipline I have been able to develop since training at CFUW has made its way into other parts of my life such as work and family. I’ve also learnt through CrossFit that progress and achievement takes effort and work…consistency.
There is something to be said about delayed gratification, probably one of the most important things I have learnt through my training journey at CFUW.
How would you describe the training environment and people at CFUW?
This is the best part of training at CFUW, the community. I am part of the ‘5am Crew’, yep….one of those crazy MoFoS that trains before the birds are even up!
But even at 5am there is a great training vibe. And the same goes for every other training session from AM to PM. The people at CFUW are just hands-down awesome.
Everyone is there to help and encourage one another. There are plenty of laughs, and the high fives flow thick and fast after every class, WOD finished and PB attempted and/or achieved. There are no egos, honestly none, absolutely ZERO.
Where the only person you’re competing against is yourself, and when you find yourself in a place where you are trying to push through training, there is always a community of people in your corner cheering you on.
